Anxious

Dear readers,
Please, please send a hug and a prayer to our sweet Gaspard for Tuesday morning. He is undergoing surgery as he has an obstruction in his intestine caused by something he ate a while ago.  We are worried sick about him and I have barely been able to eat.

I'm sorry to be so miserable but I cannot, like many others, bear to see an animal suffering.

A bientôt,

Stephanie

  1. Hi Stephanie,
I'm so sorry that Gaspard has surgery tomorrow. I shall keep my fingers crossed and be thinking of you all. It can be so difficult being a owner of pets when they are ill and you feel so helpless , if only they could talk.
    Take care. Sarah x

  2. Oh dear poor wee doggie. It's awful to see them suffer but at least you know what the problem is and hopefully tomorrow evening you'll have a tired but happy dog back home with you. Oh how we love our four legged friends but they cause us much stress. I found a lump on one of my little dachshunds last week and we are currently waiting for results, I'm trying not to stress as I'm 7.5mths pregnant and the vet was kind and reassuring so I definitely know how you are feeling. Please let us know the news tomorrow.

  10. Oh dear Stephanie, poor Gaspard!!
Its so difficult to see our little furry friends suffering, plus we feel so helpless...I do understand.
I felt bad enough just getting my little shit-zu clipped as he had become matted, even though we bathed and brushed him regularly, feeling guilty without fault?
Gaspard will be fine by tomorrow.
I beleive they are so much stronger than we think they are.
He is very handsome too, sch a cutie
Thinking of you all and sending loving thoughts for tomorrow,

  17. I know exactly how you feel. We had a beautiful apricot poodle whom we loved very much. He lived until he was 18 1/2 years old. When he was only a year old he broke his leg. I was mortified. He had to have an anaesthetic to put the cast on.He looked pretty trickey with his cast on. I knitted a sock to cover it. He insisted on walking in puddles or muddy places when we went for walks! He came through fine. Shirley. N.Z.

    2. Hello Stephanie. I hope Gaspard is okay this evening? I am okay thank you. Happy, but very very busy at the moment. I had a few wobbles with my blog and gave up - I think I struggle with the 'never quite feeling good enough' syndrome that rears its ugly head every now and again. Mademoiselle Primavera does her best to keep my spirits up! I am very fond of her. She spends most of her time in my sitting room keeping watch over; you are often in my thoughts as I think about her journey to our home. Much love to you and your beautiful family - I hope you share a wonderful Christmas together. Take care xx

  24. Oh no, poor little man.
During my teenage years I remember our little dog that we had at the time having a similar operation, he had a shard of bone obstructing his intestine and he was perfectly fine afterwards, as I'm sure Gaspard will be too.
I do know how distressing it is when your little animal friend is ill but know that I shall be thinking about him (and you) tomorrow.

  36. Dear Stephanie
If only you knew quite how much empathy I feel. I have been blessed with beautiful animals that through their illnesses have given me more heartache, worry and sleepless nights than I can tell you about. Just last night I was up half the night with my elderly cat Laurel so I know exactly how you feel. Sending you and Gaspard my love and prayers for the coming days. I hope he makes a speedy recovery and all goes well. Sx
