Dear readers,
Please, please send a hug and a prayer to our sweet Gaspard for Tuesday morning. He is undergoing surgery as he has an obstruction in his intestine caused by something he ate a while ago. We are worried sick about him and I have barely been able to eat.
I'm sorry to be so miserable but I cannot, like many others, bear to see an animal suffering.
A bientôt,
Stephanie
Hi Stephanie,
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry that Gaspard has surgery tomorrow. I shall keep my fingers crossed and be thinking of you all. It can be so difficult being a owner of pets when they are ill and you feel so helpless , if only they could talk.
Take care. Sarah x
Oh dear poor wee doggie. It's awful to see them suffer but at least you know what the problem is and hopefully tomorrow evening you'll have a tired but happy dog back home with you. Oh how we love our four legged friends but they cause us much stress. I found a lump on one of my little dachshunds last week and we are currently waiting for results, I'm trying not to stress as I'm 7.5mths pregnant and the vet was kind and reassuring so I definitely know how you are feeling. Please let us know the news tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteHelen xx
Oh Helen, yes, you most surely do understand how I feel. Thank you so much for your empathy. Seven and a half months pregnant? How exciting :-)

Oh poor Gaspard, send prayers and hugs for a successful operation and speedy recovery. Do take special care Stephanie, it is so awful I know but we are hanging in there for you all and Gaspard of course. Do let us know how he gets on tomorrow xox Penelope
ReplyDeleteFingers tightly crossed for you, your family and, of course, for Gaspard. Sweet little chap.
ReplyDeleteHang on in there Stephanie, be strong.
Kate xox
Poor little Gaspard. I hope he will recover very soon and tomorrow's news will be relieving. Take care.
ReplyDeleteOh no, poor little thing ... he looks adorable, I hope he's ok ...
ReplyDeletex
Poor little mite...I hope he will be better tomorrow..I shall light a candle for him
ReplyDeleteThea x
Oh, I do understand your anxiety all too well. Your sweet little pup will be in my prayers, as will you, while you hope and wait.
ReplyDeleteKeri
Sending him a loving hug. Keep strong, he needs you.
ReplyDeleteCarol
Oh dear Stephanie, poor Gaspard!!
ReplyDeleteIts so difficult to see our little furry friends suffering, plus we feel so helpless...I do understand.
I felt bad enough just getting my little shit-zu clipped as he had become matted, even though we bathed and brushed him regularly, feeling guilty without fault?
Gaspard will be fine by tomorrow.
I beleive they are so much stronger than we think they are.
He is very handsome too, sch a cutie
Thinking of you all and sending loving thoughts for tomorrow,
Daisy j xx
Sending big healing hugs your way, it is very worrying, little children and animals because they cannot tell you how they feel. A big hug for you too Stephanie xox Sandi
ReplyDeletePoor, poor Gaspard - no wonder he is looking so pained and sad. Sending all of my best wishes over to him for tomorrow, and hoping to learn better news.
ReplyDeleteI will pray for your little dog that he gets thru surgery safely!!! Take care :)
ReplyDeletePoor little one, I hope his operation goes well and he's feeling better soon! It's so hard when our little fur babies are sick or hurting. Hugs to you!
ReplyDeleteSending my prayers. I hope he feels better soon.x
ReplyDeletePoor little baby. Massive hugs and kisses from me and my children. I hope that everything goes well on Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteRosie xx
I know exactly how you feel. We had a beautiful apricot poodle whom we loved very much. He lived until he was 18 1/2 years old. When he was only a year old he broke his leg. I was mortified. He had to have an anaesthetic to put the cast on.He looked pretty trickey with his cast on. I knitted a sock to cover it. He insisted on walking in puddles or muddy places when we went for walks! He came through fine. Shirley. N.Z.
ReplyDeleteDear Shirley,
DeleteI don't know if you will get the chance to read these words; thank you for this encouraging, heartwarming story which will get me through the night.
Stephanie
Dear Stepahnie, how I have missed chatting with you. I am so sorry to read about Gaspard and will be thinking of you tomorrow. Take care xx
ReplyDeleteI've missed you too! Tell me please, are you well and happy?
DeleteStephanie
Hello Stephanie. I hope Gaspard is okay this evening? I am okay thank you. Happy, but very very busy at the moment. I had a few wobbles with my blog and gave up - I think I struggle with the 'never quite feeling good enough' syndrome that rears its ugly head every now and again. Mademoiselle Primavera does her best to keep my spirits up! I am very fond of her. She spends most of her time in my sitting room keeping watch over; you are often in my thoughts as I think about her journey to our home. Much love to you and your beautiful family - I hope you share a wonderful Christmas together. Take care xx
DeleteSending love and cyber hugs. Hope Gaspard is back to his usual self very, very soon.
ReplyDeleteThinking of you and Gaspard - be strong.
ReplyDeletexx
Sending both of you warm thoughts and love. Hope Gaspard is well really soon and you can get a breath.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Sharon
Poor little fellow. Hope that all turns out well tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteOh Stephanie, no wonder you are miserable. You poor thing, and your little Gaspard, he must be in a lot of discomfort. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Love Linda xx
ReplyDeleteOh no, poor little man.
ReplyDeleteDuring my teenage years I remember our little dog that we had at the time having a similar operation, he had a shard of bone obstructing his intestine and he was perfectly fine afterwards, as I'm sure Gaspard will be too.
I do know how distressing it is when your little animal friend is ill but know that I shall be thinking about him (and you) tomorrow.
Vivienne x
I adore my animals and understand your anxiety. Animals share our lives and I will think of your little one tomorrow. x
ReplyDeleteThinking of you Stephanie and hoping all goes well in the morning for little Gaspard xxxx
ReplyDeleteMaybe it is a piece of the bone, which I am sure the vet will make quick work of putting in the bin! Hugs and prayers all around.

ReplyDeleteIf only you knew quite how much empathy I feel. I have been blessed with beautiful animals that through their illnesses have given me more heartache, worry and sleepless nights than I can tell you about. Just last night I was up half the night with my elderly cat Laurel so I know exactly how you feel. Sending you and Gaspard my love and prayers for the coming days. I hope he makes a speedy recovery and all goes well. Sx

Poor Gaspard! Best wishes to him. Our dog is always picking up stuff on our walks and consuming it before we can stop him. If only they could learn not to do that.
