Dear readers,
They are on their way; I promise! Newly hatched autumnal hares will be posted here and in my shop from October 11th. I cannot wait to share them with you!
Mademoiselle Chocolat
A Limited Edition Hare
Welcome to my Gallery of Hares! Each new addition to this evergrowing family of long-eared, long-limbed and most joyful creatures will be added as time goes by. I have so many ideas buzzing around my head and my children often see me jotting these down in my little notebook. They often inspire me too and some of my favourite hares have been created with them in mind.
If you feel compelled to purchase a hare - it is perfectly acceptable to call them rabbits too, of course - you may either visit my shop, e-mail me, or simply leave me a comment on this page. I simply love making special orders so, if you have a particular dream or theme in mind, I would love to hear from you.
Thank you so much for stopping by. My hares love a little loving attention.

Mademoiselle Jardin du Printemps
A limited edition
A customer order which I truly revelled in with a touch of spring in the colour scheme and the cherry blossom embroidered on her ankle and a clin d'oeil to Easter with a delicate Easter egg dangling on her ear. Her dressed is lined with vintage pink velvet ribbon and her pantaloons with 1940's lace.
She is photographed here in our much favoured flower shop; Veronique van Uffelen in Tours (you can catch a glimpse of me in the doorway).

Mademoiselle Fraise
After a strawberry jam making session on the cusp of summer Mademoiselle Fraise was born. She has a joyful personality and has been created with so much love. She is 38cm (15") tall and made from the finest pale pink linen. One foot has embroidered strawberries, the other a pot of freshly made strawberry jam! On her left ear she has another embroidered strawberry and a sweet. Her dress is made with French fabric and ivory lace. Her pantaloons are cut from a vintage cotton sheet and lined with early twentieth-century lace.
Mademoiselle Fruit Rouge
Mademoiselle Fruit Rouge was created after a stint of cherry picking in a wild orchard overlooking our neighbouring Vouvray vineyards. She adores summey and is a little shy and blushes quite readily when you pay her a compliment. She is 38cm (15") tall and made from the finest natural linen. She is a celebration of summer red berries. One foot has embroidered strawberries, the other sports some tart redcurrants. Two embroidered red cherries hang tantalisingly on her right ear. Both her ears are lined with strawberry cotton fabric. Her dress is made with French red fabric with tiny cream dots and creamy narrow embroidery anglaise. Her pantaloons are cut from a vintage white cotton sheet and lined with vintage lace and a green satin ribbon bow.
Mademoiselle Confetti
This merry creature thrives on celebrations and birthdays. She was created just before my eldest daughter, Héloïse's, sixteenth birthday this spring at a time when we were still munching on chocolate eggs and bunnies and dreaming of sweet spring. She is 38cm (15") tall and made from the finest ivory linen. A cascade of embroidered confetti falls on one ear and on the other ear there is a cross stitched pink party hat. A cupcake graces her right ankle. Both ears are lined with celebratory cupcake fabric. Her tunic is knitted with the finest quality merino yarn in joyful spring colours and ties up with turqoise polka-dotted ribbons. The pantaloons are lovingly stitched with confetti cotton fabric and decorated with early twentieth-century ivory lace.
All sooooo beautiful Stephanie! :)
